August 28, 1920 (Game 48)
Baltimore 5 - Boston 3
Joe Maldonado hit a home run in his third straight game (4) and the Canaries dealt Boston their 8th straight loss.
Washington 3 - New York 1
Jim Halpin's 2-run homer (7) propelled the Statesmen over the Knights. Alex Voss (4-5) struck out 7, including four in a row, for the complete game win.
Pittsburgh 3 - Newark 2
CV Matteson (5-5) gave up a record 7 walks, plus three doubles and two singles, but only gave up two runs in five innings as Newark defense back him up far more than its offense.
Philadelphia 4 - Providence 2 (13 innings)
The Yellowjackets barely benefitted from five Providence errors to barely get by the Commodores in extra innings. A Mike Vare throwing error off a Jack Leary Leary pinch-hit double allowed George Daisy to score the winning run. Providence starter Dennis Lamontagne was the only offense they had for the first eight innings, batting 3-for-3 with a double and a solo home run.
- Pop Bender won his 11th and final, start of the season, moving to 5-6
