Newark 4 - Baltimore 2
The Eagles rallied in the later innings to overcome the Canaries.  Charlie Hodnett (4-2) earned the win, and Jack Brennan earned his 9th save of the season.  

Providence 3 - Washington 1 
Mike Vare's 3-run homer (3) was all the offense necessary to propel the Commodores over the Statesmen. Mark Shingle (5-2) pitched a complete game in the victory.

Philadelphia 8 - Boston 3
Yellowjacket bats came alive with five home runs as Philly overwhelmed the Clippers.   Homers by Koons (3), Killbane (1), Quinn (4) and two shots by Jack Leary (4,5) overwhelmed Boston pitcher and allowed Jerry Moore (3-1) to post his first complete game victory of the season.

Pittsburgh 10 - New York 2
With their top players resting due to unspecified maladies, the Hornets hammered the Knights for 15 hits, including 6 doubles and 3 home runs to rout New York.
