July 8, 1920 (Game 31)

Baltimore 4 - New York 1
All the offense was exhausted in the 2nd inning, but the pitchers continued to pitch all nine in this Canaries win.   Baltimore catcher Mark Kahn hit his first career home run, and John Kleber hit his 4th in the victory.

Boston 6 - Pittsburgh 2
Boston bats erupted against the Hornets for 12 hits, including a home run by Walter Hackett (2).  Ben Taylor homered for Pittsburgh (6).

Philadelphia 7  - Washington 4
Statesmen hitters had seven of their nine hits go for extra bases, but Jim Brown (3-4) and his relief staff held off the barrage to win.  Homers by Frank Harris (3) and Tom Ryder (3), in addition to taking advantage of key errors allowed the Yellowjackets to vault to the lead and build upon it.

Newark 2 - Providence 1
Tom O'Brien's 2-run homer (3) was barely enough for the Eagles to eek out a victory.  Commodore catcher James Cappucci hit a triple in the bottom of the ninth, and nearly tied the scored on an ensuing ground ball hit by Jeffrey Gray, but Newark shortstop Mike Slattery field the ball beautiful and barely got the ball back to catcher Pat Scanlon in time for the force out.
