 Baltimore 3 - Newark 0 
Jim Kearns (3-1) allowed five hits in his shutout of the Eagles.  Canaries catcher Mark Kahn went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, and 2 RBIs.

Providence 2 - Washington 1 
Commodore outfielder Jeff Passe scored one run and drove in the other, in a game where there were numerous runners left on base.

Boston 1 - Phiadelphia 0
In a pitchers' duel, batters made in on base in spades via walks and errors, but each team recorded three hits apiece, one  being the winning double by Lew Brown for the lone run in the bottom of the 5th.  
Philadelphia Boston.  John Murphy (3-3) pitched a complete game in the loss for the Yellowjackets.  Big Jeff Pfeffer (3-2) pitched 8 1/3 innings and was relived by Charles Daniels for his 4th save of the season.

New York 2 - Pittsburgh 1
Arne Fix's 2-run pinch hit homer (his 1st of the entire season) was one of three hits the Knights collected through the entire game, but it was enough to give New York the win and move within three games of Hornets.
