May 4, 1920 (Game 10)

Baltimore 8 - Providence 3
The Canaries scored early and often, girded by 3-run homers by Rudy Haerle and a pinch-hit shot by Dave Pietrusza.    The Commodores attempted a late rally with home runs by Lonnie Reeder, and a pinch-hit homer by James Capucci, but it was not enough.

Philadelphia 2 - Newark 1
Joe Quinn hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to propel the Yellowjackets over the Eagles.  Peter Murphy, a right-hander, replaced John Murphy, a left-hander, in the rotation spot, and pitched innings of one-run ball before being replaced by eventual winner Clarence Cross.  Newark's only run was generated by a delayed double steal attempt when Mike Slattery stole home.

Pittsburgh 5 - Washington 4
Despite a two-out, game tying home run by veteran Tom Evers, Pittsburgh rallied in the bottom on the inning in bizarre fashion.  With the game tied, Hornet catcher Lee Dasher hit a double in the left-center game.  Dasher overran second base, and was surely going to caught by the throw by outfielder Al Bradley.  The throw, however, was high, bounced off the infield and rolled into the vast foul territory between home plate and the Hornet's dugout in Exhibition Park.   Statesmen catcher Chris Fulmer chased down the ball, but no one covered home plate.  Dasher rumbled into to home, sealing the Pittsburgh victory.    Left hander Tim Snider was the emergency starting pitcher for the Hornets.  He allowed four hits in his first six pitches, which resulted in an Al Bradley 3-run homer that, if Lee Dasher hadn't thrown out Walter Prince stealing second, could have been a grand slam.

Boston 10 - New York 1
The Clipper clobbered New York pitchers with five home runs, including a grand slam by Fred Tenney and a solo shot by pitcher Socks Seybold.   Seybold pitches a complete game for his first win of the season.
