Baltimore 4 - New York 3
Roger Hoffman's 3-run home run to take the lead for the Knights seemed like enough, but Robert Shipley's 2-run homer lifted the Canaries over New York.

Boston 8 - Pittsburgh 2
The Hornets rallied in the bottom of the 9th to send the game into extra innings, but the Clippers pummeled Rube Sellers (0-2) for six runs in the 11th to secure the victory.  John Irwin stroked a solo shot (3) for the game-winner, but the Boston bats wouldn't quit, culminating in a Grand Slam by Tommy McCarthy (3). 

Washington 2 - Philadelphia 1
Charlie Geegus (2-4) spread five hits over seven innings, and Frank Olin earned his 4th Save.  Home runs by Dave Drew (5)  and Geegus (1) in the 5th was all the offense they needed to win. 

Providence 6 - Newark 4
The Eagles built a solid lead, but Jeff Passe (3)  and Dobie Lutcher (7) homers  lead a comeback for the . Commodores.  Nick Evans (4-1) pitched two innings of scoreless relief.  Tim Murnane (9) and pitcher Charlie Sweeney (2) homered for Newark.
