Sam Fletcher returned to the starting line-up going 2-for-4 with four RBIs and a home run (4) as Pittsburgh officially clinched the pennant.

Philadelphia 6 - New York 5
Harry Koons hit two home runs (3,4) as the Yellowjackets and Knights created an offensive barrage of 11 runs and 22 hits.  

Providence 2 - Boston 1
Will Danbury hits a 2-run homer (4), producing the only runs, and Willard Remaley threw a 3-hit shutout as the Commodores have swept the Clippers.   Remaley became the first pitcher to throw 50 strikeouts in a season.  Boston has dropped six straight.

Newark 1 - Washington 0 
John Cattanch threw a 3-hit shoutout, and Al Sladen hit his first career homer as the Eagles finally snapped Washington's five-game winning streak.


Pittsburgh clinches the pennant!
