July 17, 1920 (Game 34)

Washington 6 - Baltimore 2
Al Bradley (7) hit a 2-run homer to take the lead, and Statesmen bats poured in a barrage of hits allow Washington to win their third game in a row. Bill Wise (3-3) struck out seven over seven innings to earn the win.  Robert Shipley (3) hit a 2-run shot for all of the Canaries offense.

Newark 4 - Boston 2
A tightly pitched contest was finally broken open by a Tom O'Brien 2-run homer in the bottom of the 8th.  Reliver George Baker recorded  the victory (3-0), and reliver Jack Brennan earned his 8th save of the season.

Providence 9 - New York 7
John Klopf hit two home runs (7), driving in five runs, but it was not enough to offset four Knight errors and key hitting by the Commodores to overtake New York in the late innings.   New York chased Commodore starter Mark Shingle after 2 2/3 innings for 10 hits and six runs, but the Providence bullpen steadied the course, allowing the Providence hitters to push New York starter Matty to throw 130 pitches in barely six innings.  James Dushaw (1-0) picked up the win in relief, with Stanley Davis closing out his 4th save.

Philadelphia 8 - Pittsburgh 7
Despite four home runs by the Hornets, Philadelphia rallied late to get into extra, and Tom Ryder capped off his 4-for-6 day with 3 rbis with a 14th inning double to win the game.
