Philadelphia 3 - Baltimore 2
The Yellowjackets jumped on Harry Wright early, scoring all three runs in the 3rd to sweep the series against the Canaries. Charlie Manlove (2-0) pitched eight innings, giving up home runs to Lip Pike and John Kleber, before leaving in the bottom of the 9th for reliever Charlie Dougherty to get out of a bases-loaded jam to earn his first save.

Pittsburgh 2 - Providence 0
The Hornets continued their dominance, needing only a Freeman home run and another commanding performance by Jack Lewis (3-0) to sweep the series with the Commodores, but become the first team to ten wins. Lewis pitched another complete game shutout for Pittsburgh. He currently has pitched 20 consecutive scoreless innings. On the other side of the records, Providence becomes the first team to lose ten games, losing their fifth in a row.

Boston 3 - Washington 1

John Irwin hit a 1st inning home run, and "Big Jeff" Pfeffer (1-0) pitched a complete game as the Clippers completed the sweep of the Statesmen.
