The Yellowjackets knocked out starter Pop Bender only two outs and eight runs into the game.  Milt Whitehead hit two of the four home runs allowed.

Pittsburgh 3 - Providence 0
Houser threw a three-hit shutout as the Hornets blanked the Commodores for their 7th consectutive win.

Newark 7 - NYK 4

Eagles hitters pounded Leo Yazinski for all seven runs in the first three innings. Eddie Rauch hit another home run and player-manager Tim Murnane drove in four runs on a double and a triple. Mattson threw seven innings of five-hit ball to earn his first victory of the season.


Boston 3 - Washington 2

Walter Hackett and Ernie Johnson homered to lead the Clippers over the Statesmen. Tom McGuire pitched seven innings of four-hit ball for his first win of the season. Charlie Daniels walked one to earn his second save. Geegus (1-1) threw a complete game and struck out six for Washington, who has now dropped seven straight.
